House Portrait Commissions: Deposits & Cancellations

House portraits are bespoke pieces, drawn especially for you. To secure your place on my waiting list, I require a 50% deposit when you book.

Can I cancel my commission?

Your deposit is refundable if you cancel before I email to let you know I'm about to start your portrait. Refunds will be paid back to the original payment method used when first purchased. I'll normally contact you around five days before I begin.

Once I've started work on your portrait, I'll consider any cancellation request fairly, taking into account the work already completed and any reasonable costs or losses incurred.

When do I pay the remaining balance?

The remaining balance, plus delivery and any agreed extras such as framing, is due once your portrait is complete and before dispatch.

What if you need to cancel my commission?

If I'm unable to complete your commission, I'll contact you and arrange an appropriate refund for any work or items I haven't supplied.

Please note that this policy doesn't affect your statutory rights if your artwork is faulty or doesn't match what was agreed.
